Every bride wants on her wedding day to be the most beautiful, and not the least role in creating the perfect image is played by heeled shoes. Heeled shoes not only look great, making girls’ legs even longer and slimmer, but also gives the image lightness and grace, and the gait – a special grace.
But what to do if in life you do not go in high heels? How to choose really comfortable wedding shoes in which you can walk all day? In our article you’ll find answers to these questions and practical advice on choosing shoes.
First, you need to decide on the height of the heel. If you have no experience of walking in stilettos, then you should not immediately rush into extremes and take the highest heels. Depending on the shoe lasts and the material from which the shoes are made, you can feel quite comfortable on heels from 5 to 8 cm in height. To defile gracefully in spike heels higher than 8 cm already requires a sufficient level of skill, inaccessible to beginners.
A little trick to create the feeling of a high heel is a small hidden platform. The real height of the heel can be 6-7 cm, but it will look like a mind-blowing stiletto.
To the process of trying on is worth approaching very seriously.
- First, go to choose the shoes closer to the evening: at the end of the day our feet are a little bit puffy, so it is at this time more likely to buy the optimal size pair.
- Second, go to the store wearing thin kapron socks or tights and comfortable shoes, so that the feeling of trying on is not distorted.
- Third, always wear both shoes you like, and if one of them is from the showcase, ask to bring another pair from the warehouse – a shoe, which is on public display and which is constantly being measured, often differs from the second one by half a size. Putting on shoes, walk around the store, sit down, stand on your toes – you should feel comfortable in any position. And when you stand on tiptoes, you’ll check if the height of the heel is too high: if the heel is lifted off the floor and there is still room to rise, then the heel is not too high for you.
It is not the absence of a heel that makes the shoes comfortable, but the correct, comfortable heel and a quality supinator. It is very easy to check it: put your feet to the floor and lean slightly forward with the toe of the shoe. If the heel does not wobble and its position does not change, then the cushion is, as they say, “healthy. If the heel “went” backwards, you should give up on such shoes.
If you feel that the shoes are too tight, take them off at once.
You can try on a larger pair, but often it’s not the size. Shoes may be tight in the width of the foot, with a hard back, too narrow in the nose, inappropriate in the instep, and so on. Do not take such a pair in the hope that they will wear out – you will wear them out at the cost of blisters and painful sensations, which are absolutely unnecessary at the wedding.
Often the comfort of the shoes depends directly on the material from which it is made. Preferably choose shoes made of genuine leather, they are softer than shoes made of a substitute, will last longer and will be less scratched. Keep in mind that patent leather is tougher and less “sits” on the foot. Suede and nubuck shoes, on the contrary, are softer, but they are more difficult to care for, they wipe out and fade over time.
Some tips about the right shoes:
- Slim graceful legs will look great in shoes with a low thin heel.
- Girls with full calves and ankles are better to give preference to shoes of laconic shape and style, not too open, but not completely closed.
- Girls with low height should not wear too high heels. If the height of the heel is more than 8 cm, then the center of gravity while walking will be shifted and you will lean forward. Also excessively high heels violate the proportions of the body.
- Owners of puffy forms should refuse too high and thin stilettos. To balance the figure and elongate the silhouette, choose shoes with a stable thickened heel with a height of up to 8 cm.
Stunning high-heeled shoes will look beautiful in wedding photos and videos, but we do not advise to spend the whole day in them.
