Twice a year the bridal industry converges on NYC to see the latest in bridal fashions.
The designers show in several locations across NYC. I have to admit it is one of the most exciting times of the year.
I'll have to admit I don't think I have seen quite the collection of shoe designers at the NYC Bridal Market.
Yes, yes, the gowns are normally the center of attraction but for me, the shoe obsessed, it was all about the shoes. No matter what your style there is definitely a shoe for you, actually there are so many amazing shoes coming this year, I don't know how a bride could possibly decide on just one!
One of my favorite new lines is Blue By Betsey Johnson. As expected her styles range from avant garde to feminine and practical.
I love everything about this line. First of the name Blue, secondly she name all the styles names pertaining to weddings such as Gown Bridal Shoes, Vow Bridal Shoes and Veil Bridal Shoes.
Three of my favorite shoes from this collection are shown above. Top Elope Bridal Shoe, Ring Bridal Shoes and the Amazing Crystal covered Wish. What bride wouldn't Wish to wear these stunning shoes down the aisle?
I was also really impressed with the collection on Menbur. They had an amazing collection of bridal shoes, as well as bridesmaids and special occasions. Menbur shoes have beautiful beading detail on the bridal shoes and matching bridal handbag.
From sky high platforms to lady like silhouettes to ballet flats, the choices in bridal shoes is greater than ever.
I have to admit one of my favorite parts of my job is getting to see all the amazing new styles months before they hit the stores! It's like a kid in a candy store! Does it get any better than this?

Gone are the days of white boring bridal shoes. Brides these days are out to make a statement and show off the personal style. The hot trends this season in bridal shoes run the gamut from fun & flashy to demure. Whether your are a traditional bride, a fashionista bride or a bride all about comfort there is a fabulous shoe for you. Here are a few of my favorite trends.
From Ready To Wear to Bridal. lattice is showing up everywhere. I love the lattice bootie look by
Brianna Leigh, Colorful Creations
If you like the lattice look but prefer something a bit more understated t the Bagdley Mischka Viveka maybe for you.
Crystal and more Crystals
What girl doesn't love blng? Sparkling crystals are showing up everywhere. Whether you want a sky high platform or a flat there is a crystal shoe for you. The Pink Bedazzled Bridal shoe is one of my favorites. It's also dyeable so you also let you personality shine by dyeing it any shade you choose.
If you are more about comfort but love the sparkle no worries, there are many sparkling ballet flats on the market. One of my favorites is a peep to flat, The Halle by Benjamin Adams
Colored Bridal Shoes
If you prefer to add a Splash of Color to your wedding day assemble there are two trends happening.
Pastels and Bright & Bold. Both are showing up everywhere from shoes and handbags to sashes and jewelry. How about let your Something Blue be your Shoe with the Cleone from Badgley Mischka.
Pastels: Leaning toward a more girly shade? Everyone looks Pretty in Pink especially with the Humbie IV by Badgely Mischka in Rose. These shades are not only great for the bride but also the entire bridal party.
Brights: If subtley isn't your style then go Bold & Bright. Make a statement with you shoes by possibly matching the bridesmaids bright dresses, the color or you flowers or the groomsmen's vest.
Whatever your wedding day style, believe me there is a special shoe out there for you. It's never too early to start looking. Some times the perfect shoe is harder to find than the perfect dress. You not only have to fall in love with them but they have to be comfortable as well.
Just remember, it's your day, let your personality shine through. Enjoy your planning and happy shoe shopping!
